About Connexions

Connexions is an information, advice and support service for young people aged 13-19, and up to the age of 25 for young people with special educational needs. We offer young people support with a range of issues, and help them make choices about what to study, their careers and training opportunities. We can also help with personal or health concerns that young people may have.

We work together with Local Authorities, schools, colleges, social services and other organisations. We help teachers and carers who work with young people with special educational needs or learning difficulties and disabilities.

A range of publications for young people and their parents and carers are available to download.

From April 2006 –  until March 2009, LECP will be piloting Learning Agreements aimed at young people aged 16 – 17, who live in the London East sub-region and who are employed in Jobs Without Training.

The Motivate to Succeed project provides support in the heart of East London for young people currently disengaged from education, employment or training and who need help and support in order to achieve self-sufficiency.

All resources are concentrated on young adults, aged 16 – 24 years, from the local communities. The overarching aim of the project is to place young people who are not engaged or actively seeking employment; into employment, work based learning or training.

We also offer any costs incurred for child-care, travel, training and vouchers as an incentive for attendance and achievement on the project

The site also provides a journey planner (remember: all London buses are FREE for under 18s in full time education) and supporting information, ranging from financial support to
